Description provided by the school: Founded in 1958, Henley High School provides an educational environment which values and promotes academic excellence, encourages students to develop their talents and interests to the full, and offers a wide range of co curricular activities. The diverse curriculum challenges students towards the attainment of outstanding achievements.
Located less than 400 metres from the water at Henley Beach, more than 1100 local and international students benefit from individualized attention from dedicated teaching and support staff. The school has a very strong academic tradition in all areas and prides itself in preparing students to find success in whatever post school pathways they may choose.
Henley High School provides our school community with:
- a newly completed Middle School
- a Specialist Sport Program and Specialist facilities which caters for elite and talented sportspersons providing pathways during and post school
- a comprehensive curriculum at all levels which meets the current and future needs of all students
- numerous and varied opportunities for student leadership including: Prefects and Student Representative Council
- access to Information and Communication: 1:1 Laptop Program. Technology across the curriculum
- a dynamic Arts Program with a purpose built Arts Complex (Art, Computer Art and Multi Media Suites, Dance, Drama, Music and performance facilities, rehearsal rooms and a recording studio)
- an International Student Program with annual international exchanges (Sister School : Kofu Daiichi High School Japan)
- support for students with high intellectual potential and those with special learning needs
- a strong academic program for senior students including Specialist Maths, Maths Studies, Maths Methods, Physics, Chemistry, English Studies, Accounting, Tourism, Dance and Music.
