Lincoln Community School is an IB World School, founded in 1968. It is a private, not-for-profit college-preparatory school with English as the language of instruction.
Mission: Lincoln Community School strives to be a model American international school offering a broad and challenging educational program to students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Lincoln Community School is committed to inspiring students to achieve the highest standards of intellectual and personal development through a stimulating and comprehensive program. Within a caring, respectful, multicultural environment, the school is committed to instilling in each student a desire to learn, to take appropriate risks, and to accept challenges. The school community is committed to developing students who are resilient and adaptable, equipped with the knowledge, skills, and disposition to continue their education and become personally fulfilled, interdependent, socially responsible adults.
Because LCS believes that learning is a life-long process and that quality education prepares students to be responsible citizens, community service is an essential part of the school's program for full emotional, intellectual, physical and social development. Students are required to give back to the community in service and time as part of their graduation requirments.
Currently 575 students from 54 countries attend the school. 10% are Ghanaians, 26% are Americans and 64% are from other countries. Class sizes normally do not exceed 20 students.Ninety-five percent of students go on to college or university. Ninety percent study in American colleges and universities. Most of the remainder choose to work or travel for a year prior to entering college. |
