Rüdiger Wrobel, Managing Director of CIPS, has more than 20 years’ experience as business manager of one of the oldest international schools in Germany. Besides his excellent financial expertise, proven financial management skills, and outstanding people skills, Rüdiger understands the importance of the partnership between the business manager, head of school and board, which he sees as the key to a successful school. He also fully understands the academic side of a school and has coached numerous sporting teams, taught an activity class, and chaperoned students on numerous community service trips to Sri Lanka,
Born in Germany, Rüdiger received his Master’s degree in Economics and worked as assistant business manager for a private US university and as a controller of a multinational company before joining the International School Hamburg as business manager.
Apart from his work in Hamburg, Rüdiger has served on the board of the Association of German International Schools, on the ECIS Finance Committee and has been a team member on a number of CIS accreditation teams where his financial insight and broad knowledge has greatly enhanced the overall accreditation process.
As business manager of the International School of Hamburg for more than 20 years, Rüdiger was responsible for the major renovation of the school’s campus before leading the project to build a new purpose built school in the green belt of Hamburg that opened on-time and on-budget at the beginning of 2010. Rüdiger’s strong connections with city, state, and national politicians and education leaders was key in the success of the overall project and also directly led to favourable terms and conditions in regards to building permissions, subsidies and status of the school.
Since founding CIPS in August 2015, Rüdiger has worked as an interim business manager in a large international school in Austria and the prestigious Council of International Schools and provided a range of consultancy services.
