Stela is a School Services Advisor at the Council of International Schools. She is part of the School Support & Evaluation team, where she supports schools in the CIS membership application and accreditation processes. She works closely with accreditation volunteers and CIS Regional Accreditation Officers to build accreditation teams and help them prepare for their visits to schools.
Stela was born in Bulgaria, but moved to the United Arab Emirates at age ten where she attended international schools in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. In July 2016, she graduated from Leiden University College with a BA (hons). She majored in Global Justice and minored in Journalism.
During her time at university, Stela took part in LUC’s Model United Nations club and participated in conferences both locally but also abroad in places such as India and London. She also helped organize a number of Amnesty International events and took part in a community project during the Mariahoeve Winter School in 2016.
In addition to her extracurricular activities, Stela started interning for CIS in November 2014. During her time as an intern, she supported numerous teams within the organization and worked on the first CIS Art Contest. Her positive experiences with CIS led her to apply to her present position.
